Calm over urgency
Growth that compounds beats growth that burns out.
About the studio
Sunroom Field Notes is a small wellbeing studio and content library for people who want to slow down enough to actually notice themselves.
Why we started
We started Sunroom Field Notes in 2019 on a quiet hunch: most wellbeing advice moves too fast to be lived. So we write the opposite. Unhurried long-reads you can return to, practices small enough to keep, and guidance that respects your time.
Everything here is reflective, never clinical. Encouraging, never hype. We would rather say less and mean it.
What we hold to
Growth that compounds beats growth that burns out.
Plain language, the point first, room to breathe.
If you cannot do it on a Tuesday, it is not a practice.
Reader-first, written by people, read by people.
The people
Three of us, plus the readers who write back. That is the whole studio.
Founding editor
Spent a decade in slow journalism before trading deadlines for daylight. Writes most of the self-awareness long-reads and keeps the studio honest.
Practices and habits
Former occupational therapist who is unreasonably good at making a habit stick. Lives every micro-habit for a month before it ever reaches a guide.
Reader care and research
Fact-checks the practical guidance, answers every email herself, and quietly makes sure no sentence here is harder to read than it needs to be.
How we work
Each piece is written to be read unhurried. The answer is up front, the depth is there when you want it, and nothing is padded to fill a page.
Before a habit or prompt makes it into a guide, someone here has actually lived with it for a few weeks. If it does not survive a real day, it does not ship.
Reflective, never clinical. Encouraging, never hype. We would rather say less and mean it than promise a transformation in a weekend.
Browse the practices, or send us a note. Both are free, neither is rushed.
